A story from the heart - A Start in Life

This speech, with names changed for privacy reasons, was given at the recent A Start in Life awards presentation day.

Hello, my name is Denise, mother of children Jake, Dick, Barry and Larné who have been fortunate to be lucky recipients of support from A Start in Life (ASIL).

Lodge Young Burrangong has a long and proud history supporting a variety of local charities, community groups and educational institutions as well as the Grand Master’s Disaster Relief Appeal and A Start in Life.

The Hunter Freemasons and Masonicare are supporting the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

Masonicare and the brethren of Lodge Germania donated $1000 to Man Island, a revolutionary approach to mens mental health. Zac Seidler gave a presentation on how we can support all men manage their mental health, most importantly focus on your health when you are healthy, not just when you are unwel.

Masonicare and Dramatic Productions donated over $12,500 to 12 local Canberra charities as a result of the joint effort with the production of Heathers - The Musical.

Masonicare and members of Lodge Coeur De Lion/Narooma presented $4400 to Mrs Sue Pheeney, President Eurobodalla Riding for the Disabled.
