Freemasonry is

Helping those around us through charity is the very essence of Masonic belief, and Masonicare is the primary way for individuals to demonstrate Freemasons in action!

Laurie Walsh, Coral Martin, Phil Wilkinson

Members of Lodge Riverina Thompson have come up with a novel way of assisting members in the community needing mobility assistance.

They refurbish motorised ‘scooters’ for temporary use of members of the community who need that form of assistance when recovering from falls, or other events, which temporarily limit their mobility.

Once recovered the scooters are returned, refurbished, and used for the next member in need.

Earlier this year, RW Bro Laurie Walsh and W Bro Phil Wilkinson were able to provide such an assistance to Ms Coral Martin from Finlay who had had a number of falls and could not get up and walk properly and was otherwise housebound.

The scooter was hers to use as long as she needed it and once fully recovered it would then be picked up and handed to the next person in need.

In a world often dictated by hate and segregation, membership of an organisation capable of uniting men of all religions, colours and even accents is more relevant than ever.
