From the Grand Master

Brethren, in this third edition of the Grand Master's Newsletter, I particularly draw your attention to our Summer Dress that should be used during Daylight Saving Time. I once more would like to invite our Brethren to nominate suitable candidates for the Freemasons Community Service Award. And please do not forget to register through the Grand Lodge website and update your contact details.

It is my hope that this Newsletter can be used by the Lodge Secretary as an insert to your regular Notice Paper.
And I trust that it will be a constant reminder that we all should face our daily challenges with Integrity, Loyalty and Respect.

Nominate a Young Volunteer Now

We would love for you to help recognise a hard-working young volunteer who is passionate about putting the needs of others first, by nominating them for the Freemasons of NSW/ACT Community Service Award, part of the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards NSW/ACT!

The Awards are designed to acknowledge, encourage and most importantly promote the positive achievements of all young people throughout New South Wales and the ACT up to and including 29 years of age as of 31st December.

If you would like to recognise someone you may know for this Award, you can provide their contact details here. The Awards team will then get in contact with them, and have them complete the questions online. It's that easy!

Summer Dress

Brethren are reminded that with the introduction of Daylight Saving 'Summer Dress' for Grand Lodge Officers will apply from Sunday, 06 October 2019. Summer Dress is: White jacket (Eton), plain white business shirt, appropriate cufflinks (if worn), black bow tie, black trousers, shoes and socks. No Gauntlets required with regalia. Summer Dress also applies to Brethren at regular or other meetings of a Lodge at which Tails is the prescribed dress.

Congratulations Lodge Coeur de Lion - Narooma

Congratulations Lodge Coeur de Lion - Narooma on a great Installation!

Our MW Grand Master Derek Robson AM was well supported by a large Grand Lodge delegation. Many of those brethren travelled great distances to support this well maintained and beautifully presented Lodge. An evening of good humour, fellowship and fun was had by all who attended.

The Grand Master spoke passionately about the future of Freemasonry and the positive effects that the continuing efforts of the GM's Task Team with the Board of Management's support are having on member retention.

2,000 Consecutive Meetings of Truth

On 12 June 2019, Lodge of Truth held their 2,000th consecutive meeting. The work for the evening was passing Bro Stuart Hartley of Lodge Queanbeyan St Andrew. There were 45 brethren from Lodge of Truth and neighbouring lodges attending the meeting and tasting the special cake.

Lodge of Truth is the Mother Lodge for Lodge Queanbeyan St Andrew. Brethren from Lodge Queanbeyan St Andrew and other neighbouring lodges regularly visit meetings at Braidwood.

Hunter Hands of Hope

Freemasons Cessnock and Masonicare recently donated $2,000 to assist Hunter Hands of Hope, a local charity that assists those in need, such as the local homeless community, those in distress, or those just having a rough time.

Under the leadership of their WM, Max Katz-Barber, Freemasons Cessnock raised an amount of $1,000 which was matched by a dollar for dollar interACTION Grant through Masonicare.

Freemasons Cessnock have a proud history helping the community and will continue to assist where possible. Hunter Hands of Hope is truly a charity worth supporting. The Masonicare and Freemasons Cessnock donation will assist the charity to continue providing a haven and meals for those in need with the dignity and respect they deserve.

New Master for Tweed United

Congratulation to Bro David Whipps who has been installed as Worshipful Master at Lodge Tweed United!

A big night for this wonderful Lodge and with great support from D11 brethren and their ladies. Well done to RW Bro John Andrews who represented the MW Grand Master. John spoke from the heart with conviction about the future of Freemasonry on the Tweed and praised our GM and the Grand Master's Task Team for the outstanding effort, energy and support that has been provided to all districts in our jurisdiction during the past 12 months.

First Lewis on the Horizons

Andre Picone has become the first Lewis to join lodge Horizons on 26 September 2019. RW Bro Anthony Picone conducted the ceremony with masterly precision and pride while young Andre couldn't hide his excitement in joining the lodge that he saw being formed as a child.
