From the Grand Master

Brethren, once more we are asked the question on the face of adversity. Just when we are starting to rebuild after the devastation of the recent bushfires, torrential rain and storms leave a trail of destruction.

We always knew that these disasters would require ongoing effort and support. And support is what I ask of you. We should not let our guard down and continue our efforts to help those communities in need. We can and we are making a difference.

The rebuilding is also extended to Freemasonry. This week alone two new lodges are being consecrated and two others are getting a new lease on life. This is a testimony that our craft is strong and on the right path.

Lodges with a new lease on life

Leinster Marine

Leinster Marine Lodge No 2 will soon be resurrected and start operating from the Sydney Masonic Centre.

A resurrection of a lodge happens when its charter is no longer active and an organised group of masons organise themselves as a new lodge under that original name and number.

Leisure Coast Daylight Lodge

The Leisure Coast Daylight Lodge No 999 will also get a new lease on life by relocating from Bulli to Kiama and establishing itself as the daylight lodge for the area.

Congratulations to Leisure Coast on its first meeting last Thursday 6 February when a few affiliation forms were received.

This is a great example how creativity can ensure two traditional lodges can now look forward to brighter future.

Lodges Dawn & Jerusalem

Congratulations to Lodge Dawn and Lodge Jerusalem for their wonderful donations to the Grand Master's Disaster Relief Fund.

And a big thanks to all other lodges that have donations pending and are working on a fundraiser to support the GM's Appeal. Your support does not go unnoticed.

If your lodge is contributing to the GM's Appeal, write a paragraph and send a good photograph to news@masons.org.au.
