Let's do this!

Brethren,

Exciting times! We are almost three weeks into our Stage 1 preparations and the good news is that we now have many of our buildings already prepared and waiting for their Stage 2 checklist. If your building is not yet Stage 1 compliant, I urge your building management team to get busy and have their Stage 1 checklist sorted and back to the Grand Secretary asap so that we can all move forward with Stage 2.

I must remind everyone that, We are "All of one company" and that is how our approval is based. Due to the nature of masonic gatherings, we are unable to move forward until ALL masonic buildings have been prepared. I note that we have large numbers of new initiates out there waiting to become masons so it is imperative that we get Stage 1 completed as soon as possible so that we can welcome those men into our wonderful fraternity.

I am aware that some lodges, due to their demographics, may decide not to return to regular meetings just yet and, of course, that is their decision to make, but they too are still required to have their masonic building Stage 1 compliant.

We are all really looking forward to getting back to lodge and seeing our mates and, we will definitely be keeping our eye on the current Victorian situation (the brethren's safety must remain paramount). We do, however, have a great opportunity to get back to business and at the same time do our part in carefully preparing our surroundings so as to limit the chance of any COVID-19 spread within our ranks.

I am confident that, if we follow the rules, we will be back in action real soon.

Derek Robson AM
Grand Master

We MUST do the right thing. Please be reminded that, until we move to Stage 3, there can be no face to face masonic meetings in our masonic buildings. This includes, but is not restricted to, business meetings, rehearsals, mentoring courses and lectures.

"Lets be very careful Brethren."

Lost Rites of Freemasonry by Dr David Harrison

Dr David Harrison is a masonic historian and leading academic expert on the study of Freemasonry. He has lectured at the University of Liverpool and Hope University, and has worked as an archaeologist, specialising in industrial archaeology in England. Dr Harrison has written 10 books on Freemasonry and published a number of journal articles.

His talk on Wednesday on the 'Lost Rites of Freemasonry' will, in particular, discuss the rites created in continental Europe during the eighteenth century by such charismatic and enigmatic Freemasons as Martinez Pasqually, Count Alessandro di Cagliostro, Pyotr Melissino and Baron Von Hund. The legacy of these rites can be found in contemporary Masonic Orders of European origin.
