Remain Vigilant

Brethren,

This week will see many of our lodges completing their Stage 2 documentation and returning it to the Grand Secretary. Once this has been done, those lodges will then receive their Stage 3 documentation, allowing them to consider returning to regular meetings.

You will need to continue to remain vigilant and be mindful of any Federal, State or Local Government restrictions that may be imposed on us moving forward. You will all be aware that, in some areas, there are almost daily changes, including the wearing of masks, and this will need to be a consideration as you return. We live in uncertain times and the responsibility for our ongoing health and safety rests with each of us.

There is no doubt that our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and our impending return to regular Craft masonic meetings has been both measured and responsible, and this will stand us in good stead for the future. It has taken us a little time, but by having completed our Stage 1 directives, our buildings are now clean and well prepared to accommodate our lodges and tenants. By completing and complying with the Stage 2 directives, our lodges are also well equipped to navigate the way ahead, with strict and well-informed social distancing standards, and clear operating and cleaning structures. Brethren, this has been a responsible approach.

Any breaches of COVID-19 protocols at our meetings will reflect on our Masonic Centre Management Teams. I therefore urge all Masonic Centre Management Teams to remain especially vigilant. Moving forward, each Masonic Centre Management Team will need to ensure that their lodges, and other tenants, comply with all protocols and procedures already agreed to in both Stage 1 and Stage 2, and they will have the last say on whether their lodges, and other tenants, continue to meet. Brethren, the Masonic Centre Management Teams will now have a most important part to play. Please give them your full and ongoing support.

Ballina Masonic Centre

Ballina Masonic Centre

Well may they say you can't make a 'silk purse out of a sow's ear', but with financial assistance in the form of a loan from Masonic Investments and the ingenuity and determination of the Ballina Masonic Centre Management Team this has definitely been achieved.

Significant renovations have been undertaken to upgrade and beautify the interior of the premises including the lodge room, ante room, main hall and most importantly the female, male and disabled toilets.

The renovations improved lighting throughout, the covering of the bland and outdated brick facades in each of these areas, a paint job in light bright colours, tiling of the walls and floor in each of the toilet areas, additional storage space for the tables and chairs and externally the rendering and painting of the walls.

The installation of the illuminated square and compass externally has not only enhanced the general appearance of Ballina Masonic Centre, but significantly increased our capabilities to hire the premises improving our income levels.

Freemasonry and our image is now a focal point in the Ballina area.

Deniliquin and Goulburn Masonic Centres

STAGE 1 - PREPARE THE BUILDING

All Masonic Centres are required to register as a COVID Safe business and prepare the building in accordance with steps that will be provided to them by the Grand Secretary.

NOTE: Once all buildings have been prepared we can then move on to Stage 2.

STAGE 2 - PREPARE YOUR LODGE

Once all Masonic Centres have completed Stage 1 it will then be necessary for each lodge to prepare their meeting place (lodge room) in accordance with further steps provided to them by the Grand Secretary.

NOTE: When all lodges have completed Stage 2 and following further directions from the Government Health Authorities we can then move on to Stage 3.

STAGE 3 - RETURN TO LODGE

Once all lodges have completed Stage 2 requirements and after ensuring we comply with all regulations directed by the authorities, the Grand Secretary will advise all lodges that they can return to lodge.

NOTE: The Grand Secretary will provide further advice on any meeting restrictions that may apply as a result of further directions from the Government Health Authorities.
