Vale, Raymond Barry Brooke (1943 - 2020)
Grand Master UGL of NSW & ACT 2005 - 2008

It was with great sadness that, due to the current ACT/NSW border restrictions, I was unable to attend the funeral service for our Most Worshipful Brother Raymond Barry Brooke last week. MW Bro Brooke was Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of NSW & ACT from 2005 to 2008. The funeral was attended by a number of brethren including some of our Past Grand Masters and I thank MW Bro Dr Greg Levenston for conducting a very moving Masonic Tribute.

Most Worshipful Brother Brooke will be sadly missed.

Returning to Lodge

Brethren,

Many lodges have now received their Stage 3 documentation. Some lodges have decided to conduct small meetings with reduced activity while others have decided to hold off meetings entirely for the time being due to their location and circumstances.

This shows that we as masons are making carefully considered decisions by placing the health and safety of our brethren at the forefront of that decision making. Well done!

Brethren, we should only be coming together if absolutely necessary. Please look after each other.

I thank you for your support.

Grand Master

75th Anniversary World War II

Brethren,

Last week marked 75 years since the end of World War II and we pay homage to those who fought for our Country, our Commonwealth, and the Empire.

To all those who served in the forces both overseas and at home in order to bring about peace and to protect our society, we say thanks, and we pay specific regard to those who never returned or who were permanently affected by their experiences either mentally or physically.

We honour our brave VCs and those who have served, those who are serving, and those who in the future may be charged with our protection.

Derek Robson AM
Grand Master

STAGE 1 - PREPARE THE BUILDING

All Masonic Centres are required to register as a COVID Safe business and prepare the building in accordance with steps that will be provided to them by the Grand Secretary.

NOTE: Once all buildings have been prepared we can then move on to Stage 2.

STAGE 2 - PREPARE YOUR LODGE

Once all Masonic Centres have completed Stage 1 it will then be necessary for each lodge to prepare their meeting place (lodge room) in accordance with further steps provided to them by the Grand Secretary.

NOTE: When lodges have completed Stage 2 and following further directions from the Government Health Authorities we can then move on to Stage 3.

STAGE 3 - RETURN TO LODGE

Once lodges have completed Stage 2 requirements and after ensuring we comply with all regulations directed by the authorities, the Grand Secretary will advise those lodges that they may consider their return.

NOTE: The Grand Secretary will provide further advice on any meeting restrictions that may apply as a result of further directions from the Government Health Authorities.
